#TrashCatTuesday – Episode 5
Music has the power to evoke emotions in many different ways. Songwriters spend their lives trying to make a listener feel something with just the sound of a chord or melody. The fun can then come from matching these feeling inducing chords and melodies with lyrics…or sometimes mismatching
This episode takes a look at 5 songs that employ thematic juxtaposition (or trickery if you like) to invoke contrary emotions. A happy sounding song with dark twisted lyrics or a Christmas song about an unconsecrated mass grave filled with medieval prostitutes that worked for the Catholic Church. If these songs don’t leave you at least a little bit conflicted you may want to do some soul searching.
As usual, the track list can be found below. If you enjoy this or other episodes please like and share so we can continue to grow this little pet project.
